Welcome to the General Theory of Societal Domains (GTOSD) workspace. As you have read on the Welcome page (you did read the Welcome page, right?) The work that we will do here is based on the uncovering, understanding, and application of the societal domains that underlie our cultures and provide The Structure on which we (as humans) build our societies and live our lives. The impetus for this work arose after decades of conducting various analytical studies for clients and often running into the same problem. Whenever I would conduct Root-Cause Analysis (we’ll talk more about that later) I inevitably found myself running into a metaphorical brick wall, not unlike a street mime and an invisible barrier. Those experiences told me there was something beyond the accepted limits of our analysis – something much more base and foundational.
So this is where we begin. The initial tutorials and papers that can be found on this site are the most basic attempts to try and grasp sight of The Structure and begin our work with it. That being said, this is where we ask for your patience. I want to create a collaborative space where we can move our understanding to a place where we can develop decision models that are useful for a broad spectrum of client issues. I will be setting up a virtual whiteboard for our use, and that means getting over some technical hurdles (remember that patience I asked for?). The site will grow and evolve, much like we have, into a place to explore our most basic selves so hopefully we can create the societies we deserve.
